I am a graduate student in the Department of Political Science at Emory University. My research focuses on governance and political accountability, with a particular emphasis on new and emerging democracies. I study how voters respond to political violence, particularly the trade-offs citizens are willing to make between political expediency and the maintenance of democratic norms. A related research agenda explores governance and service provision by non-state actors, especially in fragile and conflict-affected settings.

Prior to Emory, I was a fellow at the Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy at the University of Denver, where I completed an MA in International Studies. I also hold a BA in International Affairs from the University of Georgia.
